Annual Fund Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Annual Fund?
The Annual Fund is the cornerstone and the foundation upon which each of our fundraising efforts rests. The Fund generates revenue to be disbursed annually, providing vital support for core activities, program enrichment and school development. It provides for the extra margin of excellence over and above that afforded by tuition. Gifts are directly earmarked to the donor`s area of choice. While supporting the School’s designated area of need is optimal, you can also choose to support the Arts, Athletics, Academics, and Scholarships and Endowment Funds.
The School needs the loyalty and commitment of board, staff, parents, alumnae and friends in raising annual support. The Annual Fund helps Trafalgar in so many different ways. It helps the School with the acquisition of new technology, teaching tools, athletic, music and art equipment, bursaries, the continued improvement and maintenance of our beautiful castle, and so much more.
Your annual participation is a powerful testament of your confidence and commitment in the present and future success of Trafalgar Castle School.
Why does Trafalgar Castle School need an Annual Fund?
As an independent school, Trafalgar does not receive, nor is eligible to receive, government funding of any kind. While tuition fees cover the basic cost of educating our students, it alone cannot provide the many program enhancements and curriculum enrichments that are an integral part of the Trafalgar experience.
How much should I/we give?
Each and every gift is important and directly impacts the lives of our students. The size of your gift is a personal decision and is different for each individual or family. We encourage you to give to the best of your ability.
Does my/our participation really matter?
Absolutely! Participation is crucial to the ongoing success of the Annual Fund. Each gift is seen as an investment in the present and future of Trafalgar Castle School and demonstrates your confidence and trust in what we do.
When do I/we have to send in my/our donation for this year’s Annual Fund?
This year’s Annual Fund will close June 30, 2011. Gifts can be made anytime throughout the year. Gifts received will be eligible for a charitable donation receipt for the current year.
Do I obtain an income tax receipt for my gift?
