Athletics

The students at Trafalgar Castle School are so fortunate to have state-of-the-art facilities for their physical activity and athletic programming. The newly-furbished Fitness Centre and Pool, two fields, three tennis courts and a softball diamond compliment the magnificent double gymnasium set in its own building on campus.
The school promotes healthy active living and to this end offers many opportunities for the students to be engaged in physical activity. Physical Education classes, House intramural competitions, physical fitness clubs and competitive sport are all venues where the students are encouraged to participate.
For the competitive sports program, Trafalgar Castle competes with the other Independent Schools in Ontario through their membership in the Conference of Independent School’s Athletic Association (CISAA). Track Suits
With the implementation of the new track suits all student athletes require a track suit for away games. They may also wear their track suits for physical education classes. Students will be allowed to wear the old track suits until they either do not fit or begin to look improper (i.e. holes, rips, major stains etc).
If you or your daughter has questions about which suits are acceptable please speak with Ms. Knight the Athletic Director she can be reached at knightm@castle-ed.com. We are looking forward to another wonderful year in athletics here at Trafalgar. Go Dragons!
A Sence of Balance
Student involvement in our co-curricular program is a wonderful aspect of student life at Trafalgar Castle School. However, academics and achieving a sense of balance must be paramount to ensure the success of each and every student at the Castle. As such please note the following guidelines.
Trafalgar students are encouraged to strive towards a number of goals and work on becoming well rounded young women. It has been determined that in the best interest of our students anyone involved with Robotics or the School Dramatic Production may not participate in winter sports such as Volleyball and Hockey. They will be allowed to be a member of the Swim Team, or a developmental volleyball or hockey player. Developmental team members may attend practice when it does not conflict with Robotics/School Show and may be called up from time to time to play games (for example, if the team is short players) when it does not conflict. Academic consistency will also play a role in all such decisions.
All developmental sports are considered a full sport for the purpose of House Points and Sports Pins.
