Rules For Writing Examinations

  1. No candidates are to enter the Examination room until the supervising teacher tells them to.
  2. All candidates will sit at desks assigned by the supervisor.
  3. Only writing materials (math sets and calculators as needed) may be taken into the Examination room. Pencil cases are not allowed.
  4. All papers are to be handed in at the end of the Examination. No papers may be taken from the room.
  5. No candidate will leave the Examination room until 15 minutes before the end of the Examination. The candidate must leave the room quietly and go to a part of the school where Examinations are not being written.
  6. All Examinations will start at the same time: 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
  7. Candidates will concentrate on their own paper and not communicate in any way with another candidate. Absolutely no crib notes of any type are to be present in the Examination room. All books and study materials are to be left outside the room.
  8. If, in the judgment of the supervising teacher, cheating has taken place, the Examinations of those involved shall receive a zero mark. This includes those giving or receiving improper assistance. The decision of the supervising teacher will be final.
  9. No talking is to take place once a candidate enters the Examination room.

Examination Attendance Policy

Each student is required to be present for all of her regularly scheduled Examinations. The Examination schedule is posted well in advance of each set of Examination and it is each student’s responsibility to be at school and on time for each of her Examinations.

If a student is absent for an Examination for a reason other than illness or compassionate grounds, she will receive 0% for the Examination missed. If a student is absent because of illness or on compassionate grounds, a doctor’s note or a parent’s note stating the reason for the absence is required. In such cases the student will not be penalized for the absence. A student may not miss an Examination because of early travel arrangements. If she does she will receive 0% for the Examination. Travel plans for other legitimate reasons will be treated on an individual basis.
