House Plays began in the early 1950s and are held in November each year. Each House performs a student-directed one-act play. The plays are objectively adjudicated by a community representative, and awards are granted in a variety of categories. House Plays provide students the opportunity to get involved, discover their own creativity and explore the arts.
House Plays are a tradition that teaches our students more than acting, and all of the participants agree.
This year's adjudicator is John Foote, Director of the Toronto Film School and syndicated film critic. He recently signed a deal with Greenwood Publications in the United States to write two books for their filmmaker series, the first being on Clint Eastwood and his career as a director the second on Steven Spielberg.
